What is MODAware?
Simplifies the Business Owners Life MODAware was designed to be a simple yet capable solution for small business's. Web Hosting, DNS Hosting and email can be daunting and confusing issues to the average business owner. MODAware provides a single solution that packages all your internet needs into one tool. Allowing you to spend your precious time, focused on running your business.
MODAware has three major components Console The console is the heart of MODAware and is used to manage your web presence. The console is used to: Create and delete users Manage privileges for your users Monitor traffic statistics for your website Check and organize messages submitted thru forms of your website. Create email addresses for your users/employees. Acquire information and help for setting up email clients to read/send email from your desktop. Create and Edit your website.
Site Editor The Site Editor provides a interface to create and edit your website. There is no software to buy, or files to transfer, the Site Editor is a Web based tool and building the website is done completely online with the tools of MODAware. The Site Editor is not a brochure-ware or template based builder. In these types of site builders you enter some information choose your layout and have minimal ability to control your site. Because the MODAware Site Editor is object based you have total control over the appearance of your website. The object based system means you build your site much like a professional developer would, but without the technical complications. With the object based system there is no programming(HTML) to learn. Let's take a moment to understand this system. Object based system The Object based system, makes every part of a website an object. So if you wanted to have a link on your website you would follow this process. Create a Link Object. (which means simply selecting it from a list of different objects) Assign the object to the page or pages it should be displayed on.(this is done by placing a check in a box next to pages in a list) Editing the object to say and appear how you wish, and designate which page the link should take you to when clicked.(Each object has a small icon attached to it, when clicked you can edit all these items easily.) Position the object, using the icon of the object you can drag and drop it exactly where you want it. The Site editor features Color Assistant - which provides you a palette of colors to pick from when designating colors of objects. File Assistant - allows you to upload your own images or select one from the system to display. Additionally you can upload Documents for your visitors to download. Template Library - allows you to import pre-built forms and page layouts for use on your website. Context Help - help for each object or attribute of the object can be accessed by clicking on the object itself. All aspects of the process are menu driven (point and click, drag and drop) and all objects are created, assigned and edited in the same way. So once you have done one object, you know how to do all the objects. Congratulations...your a web developer!
Draft site / Production Website There are two environments the Draft Site, this is where you create and edit your website using the Site Editor. Then of course the Production website, this is what your visitors will view. To produce your Production Site you publish your Draft Site. When the Draft site is published it is not altered. Therefore the next time you want to make a change to your web site the draft site will be waiting as you left it. Simply make the change to the draft site and publish it again, and the next visitor to your Production website will see the change. Each page of the production website has a hidden counter which reports back to the statistics section of the Console, this enables you to see the traffic to each the pages of your website. Additionally the production site tracks, new visitors to your website and reports that information to the Console for your review. All statistics are available in the Console for 12 months, the oldest months statistics are deleted on a monthly basis.
